WW1 commemoration
Did you have a relative who fought in WW1?
Are their names on the War Memorial in Kirkheaton Parish Church?
The village Family History group has a number of members who are keen to find out as much as possible about these people, with the hope of giving a presentation later in the year as part of the WW1 commemorations. The names are listed below. We’d also love to put some of these stories, and any photos you have, on our web site. Please contact the Editor.
The Group meets every Thursday at the Kirkheaton Library 6-7pm, to give help and advice for those just starting out finding out about their family history or already have experience. Free access to the internet and various family history sites are available.
Please get in touch (kfhg@outlook.com or Colin 07824 499 600) if you
- Have one of these as an ancestor
- Have any information – photos would be great
- Are aware of a name that should be added
- Would like to help in the research
- Have any family memorabilia eg letters from the front, photographs, medals etc which you can share with us
