The annual Christmas Tree festival at Kirkheaton Parish church is now a permanent weekend of the December calendar. Every year local businesses and groups surprise us with their colourful and creative trees and this year was no exception. Over thirty trees were on show – each one very individual. They ranged from a metal tree decorated with exquisitely decorated cotton reels by the Huddersfield Embroidery Guild to YT’s Repair Cafe group’s wooden plank tree complete with baubles [illustrating some of the many items the fixers can mend]  and many other unusual and entertaining trees. The local history group tree this year shows pictures of old buildings in the area as they once were and how they are now. There were even minature trees and snowy landscapes in tea cups!
Throughout the weekend visitors were able to sit and be entertained by a variety of musical groups as they enjoyed a hot drink and the delicious cakes on offer.

Altogether a lovely community experience!
