Storm Ciera certainly caused scenes of devastation and disruption along Laneside . Ox Beck which runs through the valley exploded into a river, with walls of water destroying stone walls and flooding much of the pasture land. The road was impassable to all but most intrepid motorists who gingerly edged through the torrent of water and scattered debris from the collapsed walls.
