YT has just delivered its latest sackful of plastic bottle tops to Yorkshire Cancer Research. The tops have been collected jointly over the last few months by the children from Kirkheaton Primary School Eco Club and users of the Community Centre. All told £4,000 has been raised in this way for the charity which sells them on to be recycled into other plastic objects – So a Win! Win! situation for the planet and for the Charity. Please note only  plastic milk bottle tops are acceptable. ( all colours)

The Community Centre also accepts the following:

  • old greetings cards – made into new ones and sold by The Welcome Centre
  • glasses without their cases- recycled for use by others
  • clean foil
  • postage stamps [please leave on part of envelope]
  • foreign and old coins
  • empty printer cartridges
  • old batteries [ small]
  • mobile phones [ensure sim card has been removed]
  • books
