“Our hanging basket supplier for the last 15 years has now ceased trading so we have had to find a new contractor. This has not been easy as although many contractors will provide the baskets they haven’t the capacity to also offer a watering contract which is essential [usually weekly but more in dry weather]

After much searching and a period when we thought we wouldn’t be able to provide any baskets in the village at all, we have now managed to find one. However, we have had to pay much more for the service – each of the 22 baskets now cost £108 [including watering contract] rather than £66 we have paid in the last few years [£2,376 and £1,440  per annum respectively an increase of nearly £1,000] Fortunately this year we can cover the additional cost but this wont be the case in the future so please consider upping your subscription by buying an additional number. We realise that in many cases due to the present squeeze on all our finances this may not be possible but we would be grateful for any additional subs.”
