In late January yet again Kirkheaton Cricket & Bowling Club was broken into and vandalised. This was the latest in a string of targeted events in recent months. Access was gained by removing part of the roof and ceiling of the clubhouse. The club now needs to raise money to cover the cost of the urgent repairs which include roofing repairs, new ceilings and windows. But initially they need to raise money for CCTV system and signage to secure the premises.

This is a facility used by all ages in the village for the last 150 years and we all hope that it will continue for another 150! The Club have been  heartened by the number of donations and messages of support they have received since the break in. At the time of posting this, they have already raised £2,100.
