Mayor’s Recognition for Volunteering Awards 2024

One of the last public engagement of Kirklees outgoing mayor Cllr Cahal Burke was to host an evening celebrating volunteers across Kirklees. The mayor’s  Recognition for Volunteering Awards 2024 were held on the 18th April at Huddersfield Town Hall. Volunteer groups nominated by local councillors from all 23 wards were present. Yetton Together were there having been nominated by Councillor Mussarat Khan [Dalton Ward] for its service to the local community and Chair Trish Mellor and secretary Lorna Idle, were there to represent all the 80+ volunteers of the group. They were presented with an engraved plaque and certificate. Trish remarked – “… this is for the whole of the community. We have a great team and a wonderful supportive Community.”
