Saturday 20th September saw the launch of Yetton Together’s Repair Cafe at the Community Centre. Eight fixers in all were there to fix items which would normally end up in landfill – all for FREE! [although any donations go to help finance the project!] Jobs they turned their skills to repair included a toaster, bread maker, radio, clock, jewellery and some tablecloths as well as realigning and sharpening garden shears. Happy customers looked on and enjoyed drink and cakes while they waited at the Repair Shop Cafe.
The next Repair Cafe session is on Saturday 18th October 1pm -4pm and then every third Saturday of the month [excluding December] So why not search your cupboards for those items you meant to get repaired but just haven’t quite got round to! We will have fixers there experienced in fixing electrical items, jewellery, sewing and mending, sharpening, electronics, woodwork eg small furniture items, mechanical objects, toys etc The fixers can’t always guarantee to fix some items that have been brought it but will usually have a go at most things or give advice on what how to proceed.
We are also looking for local enthusiastic amateur fixers or possibly retired professionals to join us at the Repair Cafe. New fixers can be buddied up with with established fixers until they feel confident on their own. Interested? Then contact admin@yettontogether.org for more information
