After 10 years of volunteering for Yetton Together, Mike Firth stepped down from his role as a Trustee in March.
Mike, his wife Sheila and daughter Theresa, attended the very first meeting which was set up to organise a formal community group for Kirkheaton and continued to volunteer in various capacities for some time. When Yetton Together became a charity in 2015 Mike became a Trustee and Vice Chair. He has carried out various roles as a Community Centre Management member as well as his Vice Chair duties. He and Sheila have also represented the charity at many external meetings and presentations.
At his last Trustees meeting Mike was presented with gifts for himself and Sheila by the Chair, Trish Mellor. He will be greatly missed by the Trustees for his good sense and thoughtful comments as well as all the roles he has undertaken.
We wish him well and are pleased that we have no lost him completely as he will still be available to do some voluntary work with us in the future.
