An eagled eyed Kirkheaton resident noticed a very long term promise on the longevity of our bus service through the village on this recently published bus timetable!!!

He writes:
During this period of uncertainty and widespread concern that public organisations lack the vision and commitment to plan and deliver essential services over the long term, it will comfort residents of Kirkheaton to know that our new 261 bus service is secure and the timetable guaranteed for 978 years and 10 months-see above!!! I am sure that fellow residents will wish to congratulate and thank Metro and Arriva (Yorkshire )for the exemplar foresight and dedication in the provision of a bus service to the 1st of January 3000!

Editor’s comment: Lets hope they wont still be using the same buses!!!
